The next public forum the Friends of the Whanganui River will be holding will be on Tuesday the 11th October in the Whanganui Regional Musuems Davis Theatre starting at 7pm. The topic will be ‘Requiem for a Riverboat – The Life and Death of the Riverboat Tuhua” and will be presented by local historian, Jim Parnell. Jim wrote an article on this vessel in our Friends Annual a few years back and in the process did an extensive investigation into the construction and operation of this vessel and its eventual demise.
