Mike Evans lives quietly by himself on an isolated back-country farm in the North Island of New Zealand. After an especially violent storm, he slowly becomes aware that there has been a breakdown of civil society in what to him is the outside world. This novella looks at the possibility of extreme climate change and what the consequences might be.
